The National Micro and Small Hydropower Users Society Nepal is a dedicated social organization committed to the sustainable operation and protection of micro and mini hydropower plants, ensuring their positive impact on overall development. With over 2,000 small hydroelectric power stations built through community investment and support from the Alternative Energy Promotion Center, these stations provide essential electricity to remote areas not served by the Nepal Electricity Authority. However, challenges in commercial planning and technical expertise threaten their sustainability, leading to the closure of some plants.
